Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xsane
The package I am using is called XSane. 1) Ubuntu Description: 8.04.1 Release: 8.04 2) XSane is version 0.995-1ubuntu1 3) In GIMP 2.4.5 I tried to scan an image from File>Acquire>XSane>gt68xx.libusb:001:004. 4) An error message appeared stating "Failed to open device 'gt68xx.libusb:001:004': Invalid argument." My username is part of the Scanner group and the sane-utils package is installed. -- In Terminal: $ uname -r 2.6.24-19-generic $ lsusb Bus 002 Device 002: ID 8086:1120 Intel Corp. Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000 Bus 001 Device 005: ID 043d:0014 Lexmark International, Inc. Bus 001 Device 004: ID 043d:002d Lexmark International, Inc. Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000 $ sane-find-scanner # A whole lot of writing... found USB scanner (vendor=0x043d, product=0x002d) at libusb:001:004 # More writing... $ scanimage -L device 'gt68xx:libusb:001:004' is a Lexmark X73 flatbed scanner -- No matter how many times I try to scan the same error message appears. UNSUPPORTED: I ran "sudo xsane" from Terminal, bypassing the warning, and received this error message: "Couldn't open firmware file ('/usr/share/sane/gt68xx/OSLO3071b2.usb'): No such file or directory". It's true, the directory is totally empty. I don't know if this means anything, but thought to add it anyway. ** Affects: xsane (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Summary changed: - Lexmark X73 AIO Scanner Does Not Work With Xsane + Lexmark X73 AIO Scanner Does Not Work With XSane -- Lexmark X73 AIO Scanner Does Not Work With XSane https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/245962 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
