Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xsane

The package I am using is called XSane.

1) Ubuntu Description: 8.04.1 Release: 8.04

2) XSane is version 0.995-1ubuntu1

3) In GIMP 2.4.5 I tried to scan an image from
File>Acquire>XSane>gt68xx.libusb:001:004.

4) An error message appeared stating "Failed to open device
'gt68xx.libusb:001:004': Invalid argument."

My username is part of the Scanner group and the sane-utils package is
installed.

No matter how many times I try to scan the same error message appears.

UNSUPPORTED: I ran "sudo xsane" from Terminal, bypassing the warning,
and received this error message: "Couldn't open firmware file
('/usr/share/sane/gt68xx/OSLO3071b2.usb'): No such file or directory".
It's true, the directory is totally empty. I don't know if this means
anything, but thought to add it anyway.
