This bug affects me as well.
I am using an up-to-date Ubuntu Karmic amd64.

w/ kernel 2.6.31-21-generic
We have around 30-some-odd users, but only one user is affected by this
bug.
The user is not using compiz.
All user home areas are mounted via AutoFS, but the
