Binary package hint: gnome-system-monitor

Whenever i try to play avi files in mplayer its make my system
completely freeze . Nothing happend when i press ctrl+alt+backspace..i
have to turn the power off.

My system is
Ubuntu 8.04 hardy
Kernel Linux 2.6.24-19 .generic
GNOME 2.22.2

Laptop
Processor intel Pentium M processor 1.70 ghz
