This bug was fixed in kvm-84 as published to hardy-backports and
intrepid-backports. If you're suffering from this bug, please try that
package.

I'm marking this as Fix Released, as Jaunty's kvm-84 solves this. I'm
also going to propose for release against Hardy and Intrepid, as part of
an SRU/backport there.

If you're running Hardy, could you please test this using the kvm-84 package in
this PPA:

Does this solve the issue, or is it reproducible?

Steven-
Agreed. I'm investigating that route.
I'm going to setup a team PPA for kvm, and try to get kvm-84 packaged
in a PPA for Hardy. I'll be pointing people interested in backports
to that PPA for a bit while we test it out. If it solves a number of
bugs and causes no regressions, I'll push
A kvm-62 patch is probably not possible, but couldn't Hardy have a
backport for a newer kernel and kvm?

Using 8.04 as both host and guest, kvm-62. Experiencing what we believe
to be the same problem. We run kvm with "-nographic", with a serial
console in screen.
Observation: guest continues to run normally, but there is no network
connectivity. (The OP did not specify whether this was the case.)
The OS I am running inside the guest is Ubuntu Hardy made with
ubuntu-vm-builder. I have verified in #kvm on freenode that others
have experienced the same issue. I tested with kvm-72 from intreped (
only userspace ) and experienced the same issue.

Which operating system are you running inside the guest? Could you try
with kvm-72 from Intrepid (both user and kernel space)?
