I'm not sure why but after few days the bug has returned. I did update
from apt-get all the latest changes. Perhaps enabling nvidia 3rd party
caused the regression. Just letting everyone know, the bug has again
reared its ugly head.

Seems after renabling nvidia 3d driver causes it. Disabling the 3D
driver makes hibernate work again. But without 3d modeling is more
complicated for 3D.Any possible fixes ? Thanks.

I couldn't resist and insstead of installing a full new CD. I simply upgraded
the sources and hibernate does now work. I opened some programs that I wanted
to save state.
For now the bug is solved way to go ubuntu team! I'm going to change the
status to solved. If anyone else is having an
