Public bug reported: The base installer should detect when user defines a /boot on a Software RAID RAID5, and warn him about potential unusability : GRUB won't install with a /boot on a RAID5, leaving the system unbootable.
I think the behavior is inheritated from Debian. Base installer already stop user when creating an encrypted '/' with an unencrypted swap partition. ** Affects: base-installer (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Using RAID5 as '/' mountpoint with no dedicated '/boot' should raise a warning https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/258649 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
