Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-restricted-modules-2.6.24-19-386

Ubuntu: 8.04.1
kernel: 2.6.24-19-386
package: linux-restricted-modules-2.6.24-19-386
module: ltmodem/ltserial
machine: thinkpad t22 model 2647-8eg
modem: Agere Systems LT WinModem [11c1:045c] (rev 01) (prog-if 00 [8250])

Everything seems in order with this modem until I dial. I hear the number being
dialled, the pings and squawks, the white noise, but just when it would
normally establish a connection and go quiet the machine totally locks up. Two
indicator LEDs start flashing in unison, once per second:- the caps lock and
the one just to its right. I have to hold the power key to shut down.
I get the same result with wvdial or minicom.
Nothing untoward is recorded in any log.

** Affects: linux-restricted-modules-2.6.24 (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
