Public bug reported: I'm using rsync --link-dest to maintain multiple snapshots of a filesystem, with unchanged files hard-linked between snapshots. The snapshots are stored on an hfsplus filesystem (HFS+ non-journaled, case- sensitive), created using MacOSX tools). The output of both ls and du indicates that unchanged files are not being hard-linked. But unchanged files in the different snapshots have the same inode number and the output of df is consistent with there being a lot of hard-links. I have not seen this discrepancy for snapshots stored on an ext3 filesystem. Is this a quirk of the kernel hfsplus driver?
