Only quit available after keyboard selection during installation

Since this bug has enough information provided for a developer to begin
work, I'm going to mark it as confirmed and let them handle it from
here. Thanks for taking the time to make Ubuntu better!

I am running in to this same problem installing jaunty on a Lenovo T500
laptop. I have tried it multiple times and have let it go for as long
as an hour. The buttons never become active but there is a lot of diak
activity, and the processor stays at arround 60%. I have tried it from
a cd and a
As nobody seems to care, I just have to post a workaround for others
facing that problem: it works fine on my machine using the alternate CD
and the text-based installer.

Sorry for the spam. Forgot to say that my problems occurred while trying
to install the final version of Intrepid - this bug was initially filed
for alpha 4.

I have the same issue here with a clean installation on an Acer
Travelmate 8204. Tried several times now with some minutes in between
(it really should not take longer than a minute). Attaching the log

It really shouldn't take very long, and if Previous and Next are greyed
out that implies something has broken, not that it's just taking a long
time. Give it a minute or so at most.

You
512 MB should be considerably *more* than enough RAM to install any
variant of Ubuntu. 1 GB would be overkill by a factor of three or four.
Could you please attach /var/log/syslog and /var/log/partman to this
bug, following the directions in
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingUbiquity/AttachingLogs?
I've always notice that this step seems to take longer than others and
that if you wait, it works itself out. Does that sound like a
possibility? Or no, it never moves on no matter how long you wait.

Only quit available after keyboard selection during installation
Hi Steve,
I left it running twice. First time for about 20-30 min, then about an
hour.
I then checked the machine, and it only had 512 MB RAM, so I installed
Xubuntu. 8.04 Runs great.
My suggestion is that the installation script should check RAM and
suggest Xubuntu if less than 1 GB.
