Binary package hint: update-manager

I'm using ubuntu studio 7.10. I tried to do an upgrade, the packages
were successfully uploaded, then at the very first step of the actual
installation (I guess it's something like removing some packages), I get
an error message that says that the installation process cannot continue
and that, probably, the system might be corrupt.
