Does the bug happen with just the one document opened or does a
different document have to be opened at the same time for the problem to
show up? I know of a bug that sounds similar but it only shows up when a
broken document is open at the same time which causes the fonts to
display incorrectly.
I'll investigate, stay tuned...

A friend of mine has the same problem.
She uses Ubuntu (started with Hardy, updated 2 weeks ago to Intrepid)
and has the problem with Times New Roman unbold (not with bold). She
detected no other fonts with the same problem.
She didn't have this problem until today.
