correctly in debian/postinst. Applied patch supplied by Dan Lenski that
creates the smarty symboli

Thank you for looking at this
1) my bad, miss interpreted policy, it is now fixed.
2) I have had MOTU's in the past complain about not providing enough
information in the changelog, just covering all the bases, it has been
removed.
3) Oversight on my part, thank you for explaining it.

"Ubuntu MOTU Developers ". Please also add:

Don't mention in debian/changelog that you modified both debian/control

I have created a proper debdiff for MOTU sponsorship, using the patch
provided by Dan Lenski (thanks Dan). Not sure if this is a SRU
candidate for Intrepid, but just for the record without this patch the
software does not install correctly and is unusable. Would a kind MOTU
please comment on thi

+1, this bit me too. RRRGGGHGH. Just fix the symlink already :-)
(By the way, the 4 files still missing after upgrade are only
license/copyright info files and not needed for proper functioning of
Gallery2)

Excellent, thank you. That removed all but 4 of my missing file
warnings (20 adodb and 2 smarty related). However the gallery now
works.

Change the symlink 'smarty' in /usr/share/gallery2/lib to point to
/usr/share/php/smarty instead of /usr/share/php/smarty/libs.
+1 for me. changing the symlink fixes it.
