As written above with Ibex is even worse.
I tested Intepid Ibex alpha-6 with following results:
1. If I record using Mic Boost or Internal Mic Boos, I've no sound
at all.
2. If I record using Capture I get only cracks, as you can hear in the
included sample.
I checked volume settings before
Thanks, I wanted to see if there was a difference in the output between
Hardy and Intrepid.

For no apparent reason, the mic now appears to be working, it crackles a
lot though, as can be heard in the included sample, which makes it still
unusable.

Just to be safe, I double checked and it works 100% fine with Vista, so
it's NOT an hardware issue.
