Unfortunately this is still an issue for me but I haven't yet
determined where the cause exactly lies. I have tested with the most
recent compat wireless drivers and the problem is still there. I'm not

live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Jaunty
Jackalope. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can

Neither ifconfig nor iwconfig show wlan0. As I told you, I tried the
latest version of compat-wireless and the interface showed up but then
the driver was complaining about the HW switch being off.
