I think that I misunderstood this bug. I thought that the problem was
the lack of a tracker icon. But reading the original report I now
realise the the problem is tracker-applet running when there is
correctly no icon displayed.

When I create a new user in Intrepid, the new user experiences this bug.
Changing 'EnableIndexing=false' to 'EnableIndexing=true' in
~/.config/tracker fixes this bug for me

This is still the case with Intrepid. I'm not sure whether to send this
upstream or not. After all, we are actually explicitly executing
tracker-applet from gnome-session, so I'm not really sure if this should
be dealt with upstream.
