Same problem on Intrepid (kernel: 2.6.27-7-generic ) with ndiswrapper and WPA encryption [Broadcom 4306 rev02 card]. Network-manager connects well with visible SSID's but not with hidden SSID. Looks like a kernel bug similar to PS3. https://launchpad.net/bugs/289982 -- Network manager cannot
