Like I mentioned above, this is really no longer anything to do with the
original bug report; but here it is:
Please try to reproduce the issue (suspend/resume) with a LiveCD of the
current development release, Quantal Quetzal. I pushed a patch to
wpasupplicant there which should help

As far as I can tell, I get this issue with a Broadcom BCM4322 wifi
card.
