This still happens in audacious 3.3.x
I'm not sure if it's a bug or if that's how audacious devs intended the
behavior.

I am running maverick now. The bugs still exists. Its easy to reproduce.
Make a folder put some mp3 files or other audio files in it and other files.
Not only is it possible to see these documents when pressing f in the
playlist it is also possible to add them to the playlist. If you
