I added a commment to the kde ticket. This is a kde specific issue. This is because of the new version of opensync (the 0.22 is out of support). When new plugins are available (like an akonadi one) for 0.40, kde (and kubuntu) can add the new kitchensync to the repository. -- [Intrepid]
