logitech quickcam no longer works in intrepid i386
As I understand part of the driver moved into the libv4l package. This
is not yet available for Intrepid, however a PPA version of the package
is available at:
https://launchpad.net/~kees/+archive
Could you install libv4l from there and then try launching cheese the
following way:
That works. Get a lot of the following messages:
(cheese:14543): GStreamer-WARNING **: pad video_source:src returned caps
which are not a real subset of its template caps
Will this be making it into intrepid? Would like to remove the PPA and
package if I can.
Thanks, Tom

This is the output of dmesg after plugging in the webcam. Opening cheese
didn't add any new content to it:
[ 2154.820179] usb 5-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 2
[ 2155.016244] usb 5-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
[ 2155.406877] Linux video capture interface:
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Could you please add the output of dmesg after trying to
use cheese? Additionally, the specific kernel version that you are
using would be helpful. You can find out via 'uname -a'. Thanks in
advance.
