Public bug reported: Release: kubuntu intrepid beta
I have a dhcp network with a range set up. If I leave it to work like that, everything is fine. However, for security reasons, everyone that gets an IP from dhcp doesn't have internet access per dhcp server config. My workstation is not supposed to get the ip from dhcp. I am putting in a manual config for this purpose, but knetworkmanager would not set it up. Even after I declared my network manually, I see it in the menu, but clicking it doesn't do anything, and my IP address remains on the one set by the DHCP server. I used to have problems doing this even on hardy, but managed to solve it by editing /etc/network/interfaces manually. This workaround doesn't work anymore, as the address gets reassigned anyway by networkmanager, so I had to disable the service entirely. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- manual setup don't work in knetworkmanager if dhcp server is present https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/281193 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
