[Bug 283312] Re: Intrepids nv driver doesn't paint

2010-02-22 Thread Bryce Harrington
Thank you for reporting this issue about xserver-xorg-video-nv. Starting with Lucid, Ubuntu is transitioning to using the -nouveau video driver by default instead of -nv. The reason for this change is because upstream development for the -nv driver has been quite slow. We are quite pleased with

The problem is that the nvidia kernel module is loading from the proprietary drivers, but x is trying to load xserver-xorg-video-nv. If you installed the binary drivers from nvidia.com to get into this situation you will want to run sudo nvidia-settings --uninstall and then install the binary

It would seem the xorg.conf doesn't really matter; the first time this happened it was using the output that nvidia-settings gave, this time it's a handcrafted one for nouveau. ** Attachment added: xorg.conf http://launchpadlibrarian.net/18670183/xorg.conf -- Intrepids nv driver doesn't

Hi naddiseo, Please attach the output of `lspci -vvnn`, and attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log file from after reproducing this issue. If you've made any customizations to your /etc/X11/xorg.conf please attach that as well. ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete --
