With what jojo97439 said above, I propose that this bug be set to
invalid, because there is not a bug in ampache or ampache-themes. And
that there be a new bug opened against backuppc for it's failure to
remove/purge correctly and include this bugs information in the new
report. jojo97439,
That's fine. I'm closing this report due to the latest comments. Feel
free to open a new bug against backuppc if you're able to reproduce the
issue but once again, it seems that bug 84487 had fixed this.
Thanks for your help and time.

I agree,
the message dpkg - warning: while removing backuppc, directory
`/var/lib/backuppc' not empty so not removed. is just a warning to
indicate that the directory can't be removed because it contains files
not provided by the package.
But the file causing the problem (

Charlie, just for your reference, you don't have to assign a report to
yourself unless you're working on a fix. Subscribing the report is
enough.

Well right now I am trying to reproduce this bug! I can't can you?

Yep I agree with Jean-Baptiste Lallement^^ that backuppc and apache2
restart failure is your problem.
Once you get apache2(-mpm-prefork) so it will restart, ampache and
ampache-themes should install without a problem (a server restart is
required in ampache.postinst). Please insure
The symlink /etc/apache2/conf.d/backuppc.conf is not removed when
backuppc is removed despite the file is pointing to has been removed.
the workaround is to purge the package and not only removing it with
sudo dpkg --purge backuppc

This *is* odd. Here is my terminal log while doing sudo apt-get remove
