I would go for an Apply button.

This bug was fixed in transmission 1.51 - all changes made in web ui tab
are saved in real time so you can just change username/password and you
don't have to reload window or press (still missing) apply button. Is is
enough or do you still think that Apply button would be a better
solution?
--
Well, it works. It's just not obvious that it works. I meant this as a
usability bug, and using 1.51 in Jaunty, I still feel that it's a bit
counter intuitive. Nothing tells me that the changes has been saved, so
it still comes natural that I must close the window, then reopen it in
order to open

Right now there is no indication that user name or password used by web ui has
changed. Most people will assume that you have to close a settings window to
make this change. But in fact transmission changes user/password immediately
after you enter them to text boxes.

@Jo-Erlend Schinstad: Thanks for reporting this bug. It was marked as invalid
in upstream bugzilla with a link to GNOME HIG. It would be better to move
discussion to upstream bts if you have more comments about current behaviour.
@charles: Thanks for your help and for the link to the right part
I think it's a usability bug, but not an important one, and if you want
to call it a wishlist item, that's fine by me. :)

IMO this should be categorized as a `wishlist' item
