You can use the "Cube" and "Rotate Cube" plugins as workaround until
this is fixed.
In the "Rotate Cube" plugin, "Bindings" tab you can set up shortcuts for
"rotating to cube face X" and also for "rotating to cube face X with
window".

Happens to me still in 12.10 with the native "Move window to workspace
X" shortcuts: they have no effect. Since the corresponding functionality
in the Compiz Put plugin is bugged (always sends the window to the first
workspace a window was sent to during the session), there's no way of
doing this.
Note that the move window to workspace shortcuts work if I turn off
compiz.
