I got the window again when I tried to use a damaged CD. So my
uneducated guess is this error comes when the OS is not able to read
some data off the disc sectors. I lightly sandpapered an unwanted CD and
tried it and found this is replicable. It might depend on the
sensitivity of the drive
I also get this error here at my girl friends notebook.
A few days ago everything worked without problems. Now I get exact the same
error message like shown on the screenshot.
It's really annoying. My own notebook has the same hardware and mounts
CDs like a dream.

Nothing. I recently realized that I was no longer getting this error
when using CDs and DVDs and decided to report as such.
