This is reported against an old version of Ubuntu and many things has
changed since then. Because of that we won't fix this issue however if
this behavior repeats on a modern version please fill a bug report
against it and we will take it from there.

I am using a PROLINK Bluetooth Mouse (PMO624B) on Ubuntu 10.10 with
Kernel 3.0.6, gnome-bluetooth and bluez from Ubuntu repository and
Blueman from Blueman PPA.
The mouse will simply stop working for about 20 seconds while the
Bluetooth icon searches for it.
Occasionally, the mouse will stop
Same constatations, continuing with Natty.
I add that often changing the batteries of the mouse for freshly recharged ones
allows much better connectivity of the mouse

I had this problem too. Dell D520 with microsoft mouse. Doing Always
visible got the mouse working without having to delete and pair it
again. But after reboot it again did not work.

Problem fixed for me by following the recommendation by murphy.md
previously in this thread (2008-11-10).
Specifically, followed these steps:
1. Right-click on the bluetooth icon in the quickstarter tray
2. Selected, Always visible
3. Removed my known device HP Bluetooth PC Card Mouse
4. Add
Actually the problem stopped after choosing always visible I don't
know if it was that witch did it, or what, but now it's working and I'm
happy

I'm having a similar problem, the mouse doesn't connect after restart. I
have been using interpid since the beta, and had no problems with this
untill I made fresh install of ubuntu. Then suddenly this is an issue :(

I believe this problem can be solved by changing the visibility
preferences in the settings. You have to click on 'Always Visible', then
click 'Hidden', then click 'Always Visible' again. It worked for me in
any case.

I can confirm this bug with Dell BT dongle + Dell keyboard and mouse.
Mouse will disappear and lost its sensitivity settings. For keyboard bug
is that the first button presses are lost.

Yet another update: now I've found that the mouse will also reconnect if
I click its buttons a few times. However, it reconnects at it's default
sensitivity regardless of where the sliders are set under mouse
settings.

A bit of an update: I've found that my keyboard will reconnect when its
keys are pressed. Without toggling the visibility settings, however, the
mouse is still no dice.

I'm having the same problem, or a very similar one. After my laptop went
idle or I restarted, my bluetooth mouse and keyboard stopped working and
could only be used again after deleting them from known devices and
pairing them over again. Changing the visibility setting from hidden
to temporarily
Have the same issue, 8.10 final release.
Dell D630, BT works great at first, connecting to my MT mouse very fast, but
then after computer going a bit idle, i can no use my mouse again.
The only way to use the mouse again is to delete the device from the BT
configuration and re-create it again
Is this with the final 8.10?
Does changing visibility settings affect it?
