Public bug reported:

I am experiencing severe tearing during video playback with most movie
players, under Intrepid.

My card: ATI X1600
Screen Resolution: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Drivers tested: fglrx and radeon
Window managers: metacity and compiz

Actually, compiz is not required. This machine is for a media center, so
just smooth video playback over X11 is enough.

I have read and tried every suggestion found by googling, for both
drivers, without success, including XV, X11, OpenGL output, messing with
xorg.conf, xvattr, driconf, etc.

Is there a way to enable sync to vblank on this card with any driver?
