Yes, it installed well on Intrepid, never tried it on a Jaunty system.
Btw, I see from the log you pasted, that apt-get pulled
linux-headers-2.6.27-1-386, yet DKMS tries to build modules for kernel
2.6.24-20-generic.

The important part is the test install rather than just the test build. I
was able to do test builds just fine.

Have you tested this DKMS build on a standard desktop install? I've
only been testing it in a chroot, so I may be a corner case:
