issue in the current Ubuntu release, Jaunty Jackalope 9.04 -

Jaunty, please test the latest
Can you comment which kernel version in Hardy you updated from and which
kernel you updated to? Additionally knowing which kernel version you
are running in Intrepid would help as well? You should be able to 'cat
/proc/version_signature' to find the specific version.
Additionally you mention
Ubuntu 2.6.27-7.16-generic is the version I'm running now, and 2.6.27
was the update version that broke the support in hardy, I think. The
version I was running before that was whichever kernel had been
officially released into the update channels immediately before 2.6.27.
