Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gparted

I have an eee 1000 SSD 40Gb, which contains two SCSI drives: sda with
8Gb and sdb with 32 Gb.

I failed to install ubuntu-eee when trying to use sdb as my /home
partition.

I have successfully installed ubuntu-eee into sda, ignoring sdb1.

If I go too gparted and format sdb1 to ext3, it takes a long time but it
claims to succeed. Then, when closing the dialog, gparted scans for all
drives and ... sdb1 is NOT recognized as formated!

When I go to a terminal and type:
$ sudo mkdir /mnt/sdb1
$ sudo mount -t ext3 /dev/sdb1 /mnt/sdb1

I get this error:
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sdb1,
       missing codepage or helper program, or other error
       In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
       dmesg | tail  or so

Any help appreciated. This 32 Gb drive was just fine from Xandros.
