Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.27-7-generic
(The 3 previous attempts at bug reporting ate my text. Why not allow reporting by mail like Debian?) 1. Serious performance problems Over 11b, I get 30-80 kB/s with wget, and simultaneously pinging the gateway shows ~5000 ms latencies. The same network (ssid) is also available over 11a (5 GHz), which should be preferred for performance reasons (even if 11b was working properly), but the 11b one is always preferred by the automatic selection. 2. Manual AP selection fails If I use iwconfig to manually associate to the 11a AP, it's forgotten automatically after a couple of minutes. I now have this running in an xterm: # while sleep 2; do if iwconfig wlan0 | grep -q 00:0C:85:B9:86:5C; then :; else date; iwconfig wlan0 channel 48 ap 00:0C:85:B9:86:5C; fi; done Tue Nov 18 17:02:15 EET 2008 Tue Nov 18 17:04:16 EET 2008 Tue Nov 18 17:06:17 EET 2008 3. I had warnings with stack traces in dmesg, and a crash - dead X, blinking caps lock light. Those may have stopped after I installed linux-backports-modules-2.6.27-7-generic a few minutes ago. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Intel wireless (iwlagn) poor performance, bugs, crash on ThinkPad X200s https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/299468 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
