X fails to start in dapper flight3
I upgraded to edgy last night and I can now run 1280 x 1024, but if I
try to enable dri and acceleration, the system hangs after switching
video modes.

My old Radeon 9800 Pro had a partial memory meltdown recently so I
replaced it with an X850 AGP card. My system will now only boot up in
648 x 480 mode and when I check the Xorg log, it says that all of the
video modes are invalid due to hsync being out of range.
I tried the Dapper livecd ( both
same problem here

excuse my limited unix knowledge.
I got me the ubuntu 6.06.1 64bit and burnt it on CD.
Upon booting off CD it aborts because it fails to start the X server.
I get thrown
Problem still exists in Edgy beta + updates, on X800 GTO and X800 Pro,
PCI-Express versions. Only the blue screen of an X error is gotten
when trying to eg. boot from a desktop CD, or after installation.
