Public bug reported: Since a point after upgrading to Ibex but on or before November 30th, I've had a problem with keyboard input. I use a Logitech Cordless Desktop Pro wireless USB keyboard.
Sometimes, always in X and always while logged in, the keyboard will stop responding to most key presses. I can't type; the orange highlight around text boxes disappears and menus don't drop down any more. However, I can still switch to another console with ctrl-alt-F1; I can still kill X with ctrl-alt-backspace; and I can still bring up the log out dialog with ctrl-alt-del. Doing so restores full keyboard functionality, but usually only briefly. I can also provoke the problem by moving the keyboard out of range of the receiver. Moving it back into range and pressing the keyboard's connect button brings the keyboard back, but the problem always recurs after a few seconds. The problem also occurs after a few seconds if I press the connect button while the keyboard is in range. Only the connect button causes the problem - the multimedia keys behave like any other key. I initially suspected gnome-power-manager, but killing GPM doesn't stop the problem. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: input keyboard usb xorg -- Wireless keyboard stops accepting most (but not all) key presses https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/305955 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
