updated to KDE 4.2.0, this bug is yet present. A quick review of the sources,
seems that the fix isn't included into this release.

Hmm, the fixes weren't ported to the 4.2 branch until 5 days ago, so
they missed tagging. Oh well, the fix will be there for 4.2.1.
