Is the same problem of using MAKEDEV, a deprecated script. I've written
a patch available on #340873 that remove MAKEDEV calls and load at boot
ircomm-tty and irnet modules (they create /dev interfaces).

it seems to me that 340873 is a slightly different issue, and that the patch
you posted there should instead be attached here... I'm no expert, though...
