This change is already in Lucid. I think it's unlikely that the patch
will make it in to Karmic - the patch looks non-trivial, and the bug
doesn't really meet the criteria for fixing as a SRU anyway (please see
the guidelines at wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates)

Attached is the patch I just uploaded there -- any chance we can get it
into karmic? (I'd rather not wait another 6 months and all.) It applies
and works for me against gnome-control-center 2.28.0-0ubuntu2.

Not only in Jaunty, it has been like that since I know it.
Alex: You can right-click on the notification icon, choose preferences
and change the time interval to something else and back, and it will
restart.

Can someone forward it upstream? It really annoys to wake a laptop in
the morning and get a typing break in 30 seconds.
