benste: Well what about people sending you folders (if you didn't know
the native ICQ client does indeed support this)

I'll have to check that later - I didn't know that the official client can do
it :-)
I never used it.
I started using IMs on my Ubuntu Machine and never used any client
expected Skype in Windows

:-) Nice to hear that you're having the same opinion :-)
PS: Sending folders is easy if you can send files, simply make a ZIP
archive (or even better tar.gz)

I asked some friend @ school today,
audium (MacOS) which is based on libpurple to (as far as I know)
doesn't have this problem, so it mustn't be something with NAT just something
with pidgin !

I can confirm this, too. I only use Jabber and it does not work here. I am sure
I have forwarded the necessary ports and even tried with the proxy. No
possibility. Would be great if someone could look into this.
Thanks.

Test Case: Open pidgin - send so else a file via MSN ICQ and XMPP
(Gtalk)
Lastest Package Tested: see previous post

Workaround: NO at this point
Next Step: Hope

CET(22:00:29) datallah: Gtalk doesn't provide a file transfer proxy, so unless
you either manually provide a file tranfer proxy server (or are directly
connected to the internet), it wont work.
