Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kvpm
One can install kvpm via the built-in applications catalogue. This suggests that this is a fully integrated easy-to-use program. However, when you try to start it, it denies working due to insuffient privileges. You can only start it via terminal ('sudo kvpm'). GNOME programs do it this way: When privileges are needed, a window shows up and you can enter your password and proceed. IMHO KDE programs should behave the same if they ship with Ubuntu. Everything else is inconsistent and irritates the user. Are there any issues that would prevent you from making Ubuntu KDE programs behave like GNOME programs in this aspect? ** Affects: kvpm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Intrepid: kvpm can only be started via command line due to insufficient privileges https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/321829 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
