Sorry, misread :)
The current Ubuntu version (jaunty) doesn't have any special ubuntu
change/patch, so it's ok to sync it again from Debian.
Can you clarify this with a build in Launchpad PPA?

We aren't on freeze and it's the same version currently in Ubuntu but
with some patches / changes. Why that procedure is needed? It's the
first time someone ask me to do that.
