DPMS still does not turn off my laptop's LCD. In other words, installing
4.2.1a didn't change anything for me.

I've noticed that the KDE screensaver runs even though the screen is
blanked via DPMS. Ideally the screensaver would be disabled once DPMS
has turned the screen off. Should I raise a new bug for this?

DPMS fix confirmed. Am unable to test brightness fix as my current
laptop has nvidia graphics hardware which can only be dimmed using
smartdimmer.
