Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.28-7-generic
CPU: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz Distro: Ubuntu 9.04 alpha4 Amarok plays without underruns with hyperthreading disabled in bios, even when another process causes a very high CPU load (90%). But with hyperthreading enabled (two CPUs in /proc/cpuinfo), in the same situation causes underruns. The pulseaudio process then also has a 90% CPU load. Thus the scheduling seems to be worse with hyperthreading enabled, which should not be the case. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- scheduling is bad with P4-hyperthreading https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/330277 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
