Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.28-8-generic

WHAT I EXPECTED TO HAPPEN:
For dpkg / adept to finish configuring my packages on updating today.

WHAT HAPPENED / DESCRIPTION:
I'd love to provide more info here, but unfortunately the ubuntu wiki
instructions for getting a backtrace on this didn't work for me and there
doesn't seem to be a relevant -dbg package. Anyway, what I can provide is that:

On today's updates I get:
=================================
Setting up linux-image-2.6.28-8-generic (2.6.28-8.22) ...

=================================

* Sudo depmod -a doesn't return anything good or bad. Just back to the
command line.

* I've tried apt-get install -f and apt-get update && apt-get upgrade
and dpkg --configure -a many times. Same error on dpkg every time.

* The first time it happened I was given the option to "Report a
Problem", however after clicking to do that it never came up in any
broweser.

SYSTEM:
I'm running:
OS: Kubuntu Jaunty - Dev branch, updated 3 times
a day.
ARCHITECTURE:            AMD64
RESTRICTED DRIVERS:, I'm using the ati driver, though I did experiment with
installing fglrx via jockey and ati .run generated debs. No other restricted
drivers anywhere.

** Affects: linux (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
