It looks like your starting a new X session so I would imagine that
would do the trick. Could you please attach the requested info since
this seems to be a hardware specific bug. I would go a long way to
helping the developers figure out whats going wrong.

dmesg shows no errors. I have found the way to enable keyboard back
after using hotkeys. The solution is to switch to another virtual
terminal (i.e. Ctrl+Alt+F1) and then to X terminal (Alt+F7). After that
everything works fine.

Hi, this problem may affect the linux package but more information would
be helpful in assisting the developers. Please paste the contents of
~/.xsession-errors and `dmesg'
It could also be helpful if you could include the information from
/var/lib/acpi-support/
** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu)
Please refer to the hotkeys/ troubleshooting page
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Hotkeys/Troubleshooting
Also the following information would be helpful
-hal-find-by-capability --capability input | xargs -n1 lshal -u lshal.log
-lshal |grep system.hardware
-dmesg dmesg.log
-sudo lsinput lsinput.log
