Hmmm, please try something else: in a terminal, try running sudo
modprobe ath5k. What is the outcome?

I just saw that my bug-report does not state this clearly - I did press
the activate button and got the deactivation status. After a restart I
can reproduce the same result.

Hi Dimitrios,
I was trying the latest 9.04, because the different approaches for
wireless in the guides didn't work realiable enough (when copying larger
files scp would quit with a MAC mismatch error [1], netcating files
would lead to corrupt files, ...). With the 9.04 wireless didn't really
rangerer, no need to file the bug anywhere else...
however, from your description and the attached screenshot it seems like you
disabled the driver, instead of enabling it...
can you try enabling it again?
