today after updating, the volume control showed up and it is fully
usable on my computer. However after clicking it, it looks weird because
it zooms in like a new window (compiz zoom effect) rather then just
poping up like how the network status icon does when clicked. I suppose

to the panel? If it is, please try to obtain a backtrace following the

I'm using The DarkRoom theme with original settings (icons, etc). I
checked my logs, including .xsession-errors and none showed an error
about this. It seems like its working but the icon is not showing up,
which after a restart glitches the gnome-panel out and I have to kill

Yes I can reproduce this at any time. I can drag or click add to panel
and neither are effective. The volume applet will not display on my
panel even when creating a new panel. After restarting the panel
occasionally I will see a little line which I believe is symbolising
where the applet should be
