Please don't mark this bug as a duplicate of others whilst I'm assigned
to it. There are several potential causes aside from bug #254668, in
particular there is an ongoing issue being looked at upstream into MCP67
issues of various kinds which could well be responsible but the
situation appears

Yes, this looks like a duplicate of bug #254668.
Is there a way we could apply the patch to the latest jaunty kernel
source and recompile it?
