I thought that the icons were removed to have a more polish interface
(but I don't agree with this choice)
Ted Gould: are you interested in revising this decision? it you want to
keep it without icons I have a suggestion: change the applet icon when
the mouse moves over the different choices,
I agree that the change system state options should have icons
(presumably the same as those displayed when the power button is
pressed). Also the current presence icons are shown on the right ofst
the text, whereas most other menu icons in Gnome are displayed to the
left of the text.
