No luckkeeps freezing everything to mewith a slight change. All
the desktop freezes except the mouse. Even the keyboard stops

Might be, the last 2 times it happend here a new window should be
opended (thunderbird, nautilus) and compiz uses glx afaik.

Happend for me too now for the second time - complete system freeze. I
can't find any situation that's connected with the freezes and Xorg.log
and kern.log show no crash signs. I attached the output of lspci -vvnn
if it helps.
uname -a:
Linux yofel-thinkpad 2.6.28-11-generic #35-Ubuntu SMP Wed
Happening the same here, x freezing randomly, so no mouse, no keyboard,
etc. The screen keeps the last image. Have to restart on the power
button...I'm using a 7300 GS.
