Public bug reported: Binary package hint: network-manager
On Kubuntu Jaunty, the wireless connection on my laptop (an Intel 4965 card using iwlagn) will occasionally and randomly drop the connection, and then reconnect immediately. I tracked down what appears to be the cause of the problem. In the syslog (which I have attached), it says that Network-Manager failed to get the power for the rf_kill switch. It then says that the kill switch is enabled, and proceeds to disable the wireless. However, it immediately re-detects that the switch is in the Disabled (Wireless ON) position, and reconnects. I am currently using the linux-backports-modules iwlagn driver to solve another bug, but this bug occurs with the stock driver as well. I have attached the relevant portions of the syslog and dmesg. ** Affects: network-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Network-Manager drops the wireless connection because it fails to properly read the rf_kill switch position https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/346375 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
